Clal Insurance Holdings

"The server farm has become 100% virtual. All the Windows or Linux based servers run on VMware vSphere. We have 500 virtual servers. Actually, for all intents and purposes, I have a private cloud here."

When I am asked “Why VMware?” the answer is clear. In every test that we’ve made the other solutions were fighting yesterday’s battles. It’s like comparing the space shuttle to a racing car, even if the racing car is the best possible. The wealth of tools, the ease of management, the integration with the world of storage, and the advantage of the DR give me the ability to do everything better, cheaper, and more long lastingly. In my opinion we saved more than 50% as compared to physical servers and software.

— Chaim Inger, CTO, head of Infrastructure Operations and Technologies
