Hoka Hoka Bento operates Japanese fast-food restaurants across Java and Bali in Indonesia. The company needed to establish a dynamic, highly available infrastructure to support its planned consolidation of critical business systems. By implementing VMware virtualization, Hoka Hoka Bento established a sound platform to deploy a Microsoft Dynamics enterprise resource planning system in 2014.
"With our systems running in a reliable virtual infrastructure, we can continue to improve our performance and reputation, and look at ways of increasing turnover."
The IT Team at Holmes Place at its Fittest with VMware
“Today virtualization of servers is a no-brainer. Every IT manager in a large institution knows that this is the direction of the entire industry. The intelligent thing to do is to take the additional step and adopt other virtualization tools, in order to make IT maintenance more efficient.”
The Housing Society has offices throughout the city-state, and when swine flu reached Hong Kong in 2009, the organization realized it needed an alternative location to ensure some employees could still access vital tenancy information and critical services should there be an infectious disease epidemic or natural disaster. The organization virtualized its data center five years ago on VMware vSphere® to consolidate its sprawling physical infrastructure and has achieved 94 percent virtualization. All mission critical applications are now virtualized, including its iHousing system for tenancy management, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Oracle JD Edwards financial application. The organization worked with VMware to design and implement a virtual desktop infrastructure solution delivered by VMware® Horizon ViewTM.
"A virtual desktop solution delivers greater flexibility to our employees because the data follows them rather than tying them to a single location. We had a strong relationship with VMware and existing expertise in the vSphere server virtualization software, and so it made good business sense to virtualize our desktops with VMware."
In this video, Tirus Mutoru, Head of IT for Housing Finance Bank, outlines how his team have benefited from virtualization and the support from HP and VMware partners. His team has been able to dramatically reduce the time taken to provision servers – from 6 weeks to one hour.
“It was quite interesting because I was using both the Hyper-V and also VMware, but then based on experience on ease of use; me and my team finally settled on VMware.”
Diversified Global Optics Leader Based in Tokyo Virtualizes SAP to Reduce Costs, Increase Flexibility
“We successfully migrated eight production systems at the same time, which might be considered risky. But VMware software is known for its stability and it is fully supported by SAP. It would have been more risky not to virtualize.”

Az MNB szervervirtualizációs projektje a VMware ESX Server 3.5-ös verziójával indult, de a platform legújabb, 4.0-s verzióra történő frissítése a HP-val kötött support szerződésnek is része. A virtualizált szerverek felügyeletére a jegybank a VMware vCenter megoldását vezette be. Az MNB a hardvererőforrások átlagosan 70 százalékos kihasználását tűzte ki célul, ami a projekt eredményeként a gyakorlatban megvalósult. A jegybank a VMware virtualizációs megoldásával ötödére csökkentette a szervergépek számát, amivel arányosan csökkent a kiszolgálók hely- és a hűtésigénye is.
“Due to the extra importance of the national bank’s role, a virtualisation solution already well-proven in the market and providing high standards of support and having adequate references in Hungary could be considered only. VMware’s virtualisation technology met these strict requirements.”
Alain Delaby, IT manager at IBA talks about his 10 years journey of using VMware virtualization and how it has helped him to have a good continuity of service with their main business applications.
“We are always looking what new features we can bring to our business to make it more reliable and easier to manage and that are the main interests. At this point, VMware is still meeting our expectations so we are continuing to work on that.”
VMware vSphere provides a dynamic, manageable and cost-effective infrastructure to run critical applications. VMware ThinApp isolates legacy applications, minimizing disruption from patching and management activities.
"Using VMware has allowed us to keep running applications based on legacy environments such as Visual Basic and Internet Explorer 6 while providing the security, resilience and performance required for critical business applications.”
"With VMware, the manageability of the infrastructure is very smooth. Getting an application is a lot easier today. Procurement of servers, installation and commissioning of servers, and time-to-market for applications is drastically faster."

VMware Professional Services, In Partnership With House Of Brick, Helped Indiana University Migrate One Of Its Largest Transaction Processing Database To VMware vSphere 4, And Demonstrated That The vSphere Platform Performed As Well As The IBM AIX Platform
“With the help of House of Brick and VMware Professional Services, we have been able to virtualize our most demanding Oracle Databases on x86 servers. Where initially
we believed that these databases would be too demanding for a virtual machine, we now have the confidence that vSphere can handle our largest transaction-processing databases with ease.”
Indiana University Works Smart With Virtualization Plus VMware BCS
Efficient Infrastructure for an Efficient Organization
“Indiana University has an obligation to our students, our research staff, and the taxpayers of our state to drive financial efficiencies wherever possible within IT. With VMware, our IT organization is meeting that obligation in two ways. By virtualizing our infrastructure on a VMware platform, we’ve enabled an architecture that is as cost-efficient as it is flexible and reliable. And by adding a VMware Business Critical Support resource to our IT team, we’ve expanded our capabilities and technical depth at a fraction of the cost of hiring an additional full-time virtualization specialist.”
VMware virtualization has enabled Indosat
M2 to reduce the total cost of ownership
of its IT systems by up to 80 percent;
deliver new server resources faster;
implement a robust disaster recovery
infrastructure; and plan to implement
“At the moment it would take us half a day to recover most of our systems to our secondary datacenter. With virtualization, we believe we can get this down to half an hour.”
INDUS Raises IT Reliability, Availability with Virtacore Cloud Hosting Solution
“Reliability and availability of our critical systems; lower cost; simplified management: Those are the key benefits we get from our hosted cloud solution. If I were starting a new company today, I wouldn’t build a physical datacenter. I’d call someone like Virtacore, and leverage virtualization solutions from VMware.”
— John Foley, Senior Manager, Infrastructure Technology
VMware Virtual Infrastructure Enables Efficient Server Consolidation, Reduced Capital And Operating Expenses, And Centralized IT Management
“After upgrading to vSphere 4.0, we measured a 30 percent increase in performance in our test and production environments. We’ve also improved our consolidation ratios. In production, we’re currently running about 40 virtual servers on each host, but we feel perfectly comfortable bumping up our consolidation thresholds to 50 to 1.”
