VMware Infrastructure Has Greatly Improved System Reliability, Reduced Costs And It Staffing Requirements, And Freed Time And Money For Software Development
“VMware helped us reduce the support time and monitor and maintain the system at a central location using the vCenter Server. We now think ‘virtual machine first whenever there is a new server to be installed. We also save time by provisioning new machines from template and save money by not having to purchase hardware.”

ITSAM in Sweden is an public sector organisation formed to provide IT support and services to educational establishments across 6 different municipalities.
One of the main challenges they faced was having the ability to operate in such a large region. If a computer went down, they would send an engineer out to fix it, this proved to be very inefficient and costly.
With unique desktops you get unique problems, so ITSAM implemented VMware View so that they could easily replicate desktops to hundreds of students. This has enabled their end users to access their desktops from any location at anytime. It has also enabled teachers to easily provide additional applications to support students that need extra tuition enabling the students to work on these from home.
ITSAM have recently started a proof of concept with Horizon, to enable them to manage their applications more efficiently.
“The benefit to the end users is that they can access their own desktop from any client around the world, it does n’t matter where they are. Also the school can make sure they provide the correct applications to the right students at all times.”
VMware vSphere Dramatically Reduces Capital And Operating Costs And Maximizes IT Efficiency
“VMware has helped our organisation to leave our limited physical IT infrastructure behind and build a system which is over 80% virtualized, is almost infinitely scalable and to which we have trusted our most business critical applications. Our business continuity capabilities have
improved, our power consumption has been dramatically reduced but, most satisfying of all, is the ease with which our IT environment can now be managed. Time has been
freed up for me to concentrate on delivering new IT projects which will help our company grow.”
Barriers Fall to Jackson Hospital Virtualization of McKesson HPF
Virtualization Cuts Costs, Simplifies IT Management, & Frees
Clinicians to Spend More Time with Patients
“Why did we virtualize with VMware vSphere? The question is, why wouldn’t we? Jackson Hospital is aiming for 100 percent datacenter virtualization on vSphere. The benefits are huge, including improved manageability, greater reliability, easier scaling, better leveraging of hardware and software investments, and lower cost.”
Main objectives for Jadransko osiguranje were: Improve efficiency and reduce cost associated with a decentralized and complex IT environment; provide an optimized IT system capable of supporting the business; securely provide 3rd party access to virtual desktops. To address this, Jadransko osiguranje decided to pursue a virtualization strategy and opted for a solution from market leaders VMware and Cisco. Business Impact were: Reduced capital expenditure by 20 percent; Increased IT resource efficiency by reducing maintenance burden; Maximized application and data security and enabled IT to focus on innovatively serving the business
“Server virtualization simplified the management of the entire IT infrastructure, cut equipment purchase costs by 20 percent, and cut energy consumption by as much as 70 percent.”
Use VMware Infrastructure To Dramatically Consolidate Hosts While Beefing Up The Performance And Reliability Of Applications Like SQL Server
“This is a law firm, so most people here aren’t concerned about how our IT infrastructure’s set up. What they care about is, ‘Is it up?’ and ‘Is it fast?’ Since we’ve been running our key applications on VMware Infrastructure, the answer to those questions has basically been ‘yes,’ which makes our users—and us—very happy.”
Over the next few years, cloud computing will be crucial in attempts by Chinese local government to improve efficiency by leveraging mobile working. To deliver a simple, easy-to-use desktop experience for BYOD users in its workforce, the Jinan Municipal Public Security Bureau (JMPSB – the body responsible for local police forces throughout the Jinan metropolitan area), embarked on an ambitious desktop visualization project based on a VMware vSphere cloud platform for all 20,000 officers.
"Following the opening of our cloudbased data centre, the launch of our VDI brings the benefits of the cloud to frontline operations. It supports the various operational environments used by the different local forces under the bureau’s control, and is one of the largest and most advanced integrated multi-force cloud platforms in China."
Diagnosis: Overcrowded Data Center. Remedy: Virtualization
“Intel’s Xeon processors work with the VMware Infrastructure 3 platform to give us the maximum server consolidation per dollar. If our virtual infrastructure was a car, we’d be getting more than 100 miles per gallon.”

VMware vFabric tc Server Streamlines Application Deployment.
John Muir Health is a not-for-profit health care organization that includes two of the largest medical centers in Contra Costa County, California – the Walnut Creek and Concord campuses of John Muir Medical Center.
“With tc Server, we have a more reliable and maintainable deployment strategy and it takes a lot less time. In the past, having to restart Tomcat, we could easily spend 30 minutes to an hour just setting up an instance and getting it running. Now, with tc Server, it’s a few clicks, and it takes less than 15 minutes to get an application up and running.”
Originally a division of The Japan Research Institute, Limited, JSOL offers IT solutions to customers in the manufacturing, distribution & services, finance and public utilities sectors, and has built up a strong track record in the provision of a comprehensive service covering everything from IT consulting to system building and operation.
Since partnering with NTT Data in January 2009, JSOL has expanded its capabilities to become a total service provider in the field of IT.

“Virtualizing all our applications has provided us with a great foundation to expand our operations into the cloud and has given us a competitive edge by being able to offer our farming software as-a-service to our customers. Our old infrastructure was creaking at the seams, but we have now built a stable, reliable and highly scalable infrastructure that will stand the test of time.”
K. Raheja Corporation deployed a virtualized environment using VMware ESX Server 4.1 with Enterprise Licenses. VMware is running on IBM System x3850 X5 server with 92 GB Memory and 6 Core x 4 Socket Processor each. The servers are virtualized and are managed through one console.
“With the help of VMware platform we have been able to achieve excellent results. The savings in Capex, Space, Power and Cooing bill, etc is noteworthy apart from the intangible benefits such as manageability, redundancy.”

Use VMware Technology To Guarantee The Availability Of Healthcare Critical Applications While Saving Money, Power And Space In The Datacenter
“Running applications on ESX ensures their reliability, which is the number-one reason we began adopting it across the board in our datacenter. So many of our applications and systems are absolutely vital to staff and patients. So making sure they’re available whenever they’re needed is our paramount concern.”
Kaseya wanted to have its entire hardware infrastructure hosted externally to reduce costs and improve flexibility. It was also keen to start delivering a SaaS offering to its customers. Kaseya made the move to the cloud and created a managed software-as-a-service platform, based on VMware technology.
“Working with VMware has enabled us to achieve the completely hardware-free environment we wanted. Our main driver for the switch to a cloud model was to cut costs, but we’ve realised so much more than that from our move – increased security and availability, improved flexibility and better customer service to boot!”
Kaweah Delta Health Care District is using VMware to Dramatically Improve Availability and Run Tier 1, Mission-Critical Applications—Plus Create a New Revenue Stream
“We are moving as many of our mission-critical applications to the VMware environment as we can. I see VMware as our primary platform. It gives me peace of mind about availability and performance because it just works. I never have to deal with it. And the improved utilization helps control costs. These days, the first thing we ask a new software vendor is, ‘Does it run on VMware?’”
