Nordea Bank Polska SA
Platforma VMware vSphere 4 umożliwiła stworzenie stabilnego środowiska wirtualnego, jednocześnie przyczyniając się do odzyskania wolnego miejsca w serwerowni i ograniczenia poboru energii. Dla działu IT bardzo istotną kwestią była też wygoda tworzenia środowisk testowych i możliwość prowadzenia tzw. testów pre-live. Dzięki wirtualizacji serwerów zwiększyła się elastyczność zarządzania zasobami i uprościło zarządzanie całym środowiskiem IT. Pozytywne doświadczenia z VMware vShpere 4 skłoniły dział IT w banku Nordea do wdrożenia rozwiązania VMware View 4 służącego do wirtualizacji desktopów. Środowisko to zostało uruchomione produkcyjnie we wrześniu 2010 r.
“Wdrożenie wirtualizacji przyniosło wymierne korzyści w zakresie zarządzania, m.in. zespół odpowiedzialny wcześniej za zarządzanie sprzętem mógł zająć się innymi projektami. Co więcej, jedna konsola VMware vCenter umożliwia nam zarządzanie platformą vSphere oraz nowym środowiskiem VMware View. To daje nam możliwość rozbudowany naszej infrastruktury bez powiększania działu IT.”

Provident Financial Holding (Provident Zrt.)
Using VMware based virtualization, Provident wanted to reduce at least 40 percent of the floor area occupied by the servers. Nearly three years after the implementation of the project our server room now contains 65 servers operating on 4 multi-processor VMware nodes, which means that the number of our servers increased by more than 50 percent while they still have free base area. Provident has also used the VMware solution to virtualize business critical processes such as the Dynamics AX enterprise management system that supports bookkeeping, the Nexon HR payroll system as well as the arrears management and statement creation system. Strategic objective for VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager is introduced, which for critical servers can operate in two locations simultaneously, making it one fails, virtually seamless business continuity is provided. In order to design host server configurations, Provident used the Capacity Planner tool of VMware. The VMware-based virtualization and achieved impressive results in a very positive experience for all Provident will continue to introduce new services and virtual environments. The parent company has already started on the project, which aims to virtualize the central accounting system.
"VMware has already proven its value a thousand times in systems like those that we have also been planning to virtualize. We regarded this as an assurance that VMware technology would allow us to implement our project at the lowest possible risk level. Experience gained from more than two years of live operation allows us to confirm that our decision to opt for the virtualization solution of VMware was the right one, and we are perfectly satisfied with it."
