Ideosity

Ideosity, a boutique technology consultancy with large global clients, needed to ensure that client data was safely backed up and could be easily recovered by a small IT team. With the VMware vSphere® Data Protection™ Advanced solution, data is backed up and replicated to offsite locations as an added measure of protection. Best of all, backups and replication that once took 12 hours or more can now be completed in less than three hours. Faster data protection means Ideosity can do more with existing hardware and its existing IT resources, saving time, money, and effort.

“I’ve virtualized with VMware and prefer backing up with VMware. With vSphere Data Protection Advanced, backups have gotten more sophisticated. It is cost-effective and reliable— kind of set it and forget it.”

The college decided to virtualize desktops because the current workstations were aging. The price to replace those workstations was roughly the same as going to virtualization. La Cite chose Dell, NVIDIA, and VMware to deliver virtual desktops to these labs which resulted in reduced login times and more flexibility for both students and faculty.

“Virtualization helps me greatly when I’m preparing my classwork at home. I can quickly access the virtualization and see what the application looks like and prep my work around the same image that the students are using.”
