Cornerstone implemented VMware vSphere with Operations Management, deploying 45 hosts and almost 100 virtual machines to provide visibility into past and present asset health through a unique, centralized console, and enable superior platform-wide management.

Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) is a Third level college based in the south of Ireland in Cork. The challenges they were looking to address in CIT was in relation to the online delivery of cloud computing courses. VMware View allowed them to deploy virtual desktops to the students and also they choose vCloud Director Product to deploy labs to students as well. Since these students use their own vAPP; with vCloud director, the vAPPs are segregated and they are isolated from other vAPPS so they can manipulate these tools, test these tools and not affect the network surrounding.

To improve the security of sensitive data on its servers, Japanese market research company Fuji Keizai implemented a thin-client environment back in 2008. However, there were considerable issues around managing the thin clients and further problems supporting mobile devices. After exploring all options, the company switched to a VMware Horizon View client environment with support for multiple device types.
