Nyherji was looking for a way of simplifying its data centre infrastructure while being able to offer its customers a true hybrid cloud environment. To support the launch of the new 2012 Impreza, Subaru engaged marketing agency Carmichael Lynch to develop a revolutionary website to help drive their marketing campaign called firstcarstory.com it enables users to celebrate their first car experience and bring their story to life. By typing in the details, the site will automatically animate the story and provides the user with a personalised video that they could share through social media channels. A flexible rendering capacity was required to support the large numbers of visitors to their state of art real-time website. VMware Powered Service Provider Bitbrains was able to provide high performance computing nodes to help with simultaneous rendering. A hybrid cloud model based on VMware technology has provided a stable basis, within the first month the website had created over 10,000 animations. Videos are prepared and presented in less than 40 seconds.

University of Derby
