VMware Signs Dimension Data Learning Solutions to Offer VMware Training in Australia
VMware Meets IT Skills Shortage Signing Third Learning Centre
Sydney, Australia, 13 May, 2009 – VMware, Inc (NYSE:VMW), the global leader in virtualization solutions from the desktop to the datacenter, today announced it has signed Dimension Data Learning Solutions as a VMware Authorised Training Centre in Australia.
Paul Harapin, VMware Vice President Australia and New Zealand, said the agreement between Dimension Data Learning Solutions (DDLS) and VMware represents another step VMware is taking to meet rising demand for up-skilling in virtualization technology in Australia.
“We recently certified our 1000th VCP in Australia and we are pleased to be partnering with DDLS to offer a greater number of IT professionals in Australia the opportunity to become VMware certified.

DDLS will now offer VMware certified training courses to customers, channel partners and the general public on a range of different levels. The courses, which take up to five days to complete, officially recognises and grades skill levels using VMware virtualization technology.
David Gage, DDLS General Manager, said the decision to become a VMware Authorised Training Centre was made to assist students and IT professionals build a greater understanding of VMware technology and a higher level of recognised skills with its Virtualization technology.
“VMware is recognised as the leader in virtualization and it was only natural we coordinate our efforts with them to meet the demands of Australian IT professionals seeking to advance their career,” he said. “We are pleased to be offering a number of new courses in emerging technologies, which will help keep Australia at the forefront of virtualization enablement.”
Australia ranks fifth in the world for number of students trained, and is a world leader in VMware virtualization penetration. Mr Harapin said VMware is committed to developing its Australian and New Zealand training program to cater to the specific needs of local markets and IT staff.
