Lefthand Networks Virtual SAN Appliance for VMware® ESX Server
LeftHand Networks Virtual SAN Appliance (VSA) converts storage internal to VI3 servers into a full-featured, clustered iSCSI SAN
Features
SAN Storage - A Virtual SAN Appliance (VSA) is ideal for customers who are looking to realize the benefits of advanced server virtualization in data centers and remote offices where physical SAN deployment is inhibited by space and/or budget constraints. Powered by SAN/iQ, LeftHand's storage software platform, a Virtual SAN Appliance for VMware(r) ESX Server converts storage internal to VI3 servers into a clustered iSCSI SAN, providing all of the SAN services necessary for storage provisioning, data protection, data replication, management and availability in demanding datacenter environments.
LeftHand's SAN/iQ Demo and Evaluation Editions enable full featured use of SAN/iQ in a Virtual SAN Appliance (VSA). Experience firsthand the wide range of enterprise-class features such as space-efficient snapshots, thin provisioning, synchronous and asynchronous replication, automatic failover and failback, and management through a single pane of glass. All features are enabled for a 30-day trial period. After the trial period has ended, you can continue to use the tool as a virtual iSCSI target without the advanced features. Laptop VSA Demo Edition Description:
The Demo Edition of the VSA is the smallest and most portable version of the VSA. Multiple copies can be installed separately and run on a single laptop or desktop to simulate SAN/iQ clusters and sites. Each Demo Edition VSA requires 224MB of RAM and 5GB of disk space. VMware Player, Workstation, or Server is required to run this demo.
VSA Evaluation Edition Description:
The Evaluation Edition of the VSA is capable of supporting larger capacity servers and is useful for building significant SAN/iQ clusters. Evaluation Edition VSA's can support up to 2TB of disk space. Each SAN/iQ Evaluation Edition VSA requires 1GB of RAM and at least 5GB of disk space. VMware Server and VMware ESX Server versions are pre-formatted for their respective platforms.
