Description
The NullBound Malware Prevention
System was designed to operate in complete
transparency on a network, but still be capable
of filtering malicious software before it ever
reaches an end-user computer.
With NullBound, there is no end-user software
to install on client computers and it does not
perform as a proxy server, firewall, gateway, or
bridge.
NullBound is placed at the perimeter of the
network it is protecting and monitors the traffic
going to and from the internet. Because of this,
NullBound does not affect normal traffic flow
and does not interfere with traffic routing.
NullBound monitors and filters the traffic as it
normally flows to the internet.
This type of approach allows for a seamless
and effortless integration into a network of any
size. Also, since NullBound operates in this
fashion, there is no point of failure, zero
network degradation, and it works with both
wired and wireless networks. There is no need
for a load-balanced or fail-over solution since
the network is not dependant on NullBound to
route or manage traffic. With this type of
integration it can drastically reduce infrastructure
costs as there are no other hardware
requirements.
From the time the Malware Prevention System
is installed and running, it instantly protects
every end-user on the network. This even
includes computers that are already infected.
The malicious software itself is no longer able
to communicate to the internet, regardless of
what protocol it uses, to keep in contact with
its parent network and perform functions like
updating itself, downloading more malware,
receiving configuration information, and
stealing private data.
