Description
This appliance was built from scratch using debootstrap and adding a virtual kernel. Doing it this way leaves you with only the bare essentials which is a perfect base to build a virtual appliance on but with all the ubuntu software ready to be installed! It has VMware tools installed by adding build-essential and linux-headers and compiling the needed modules. Then the disk was cleaned using apt-get autoremove and stripping the vmware tools directory from the unneeded binaries and 64-bit files (leaving 30MB instead of 150MB).
