xDash

Framework for application integration (EAI)

Description

1. xDash is a framework for application integration (see http://xdash.jabberstudio.org). It uses Jabber/XMPP as the communication protocol and a set of agents. All the needed information is automatically generated from a CSV file which can be comfortably edited in a spreadsheet editor.

There are no hands-on tutorials, on how to integrate applications. The appliance contains a step-by-step deployment tutorial and a running integration chain.

2. The appliance is intended to be used with the VMware Player (or other VMware product) as a sandbox.

3. Installation (text from http://xdash.jabberstudio.org/demo):
* Download and install VMware Player (~30 MByte);
* Download xD-Debian.zip ( ~160 MByte);
* Unpack it and look inside: login_and_password.txt;
* Start VMware Player with xD-Debian.vmx ;
* Log in as root (OS switching: Ctrl+G, Ctrl+Alt);
* Start Midnight Commander with command: mc;
* Look inside About.txt with F3 to know, what you have on board;
* Change directory to Tutorial and the to the 00_Introduction? and read 0___Readme.txt;
* Follow the tutorial ...
* Install whatever you want (apt and ssh/scp but be ware of network implications of ethernet0.connectionType="nat" or "bridged' in xD-Debian.vmx).

4. License:
xDash -> Apache 2.0
Debian -> www.debian.org
