To start using WikiBox,
1. Uncompress WikiBox.tar.bz2 into your Virtual Machines directory.
2. Start the virtual machine using your favorite VMWare tool. Before starting the virtual machine, don’t forget to configure the network (NAT or Bridged). By default, it is NAT based.
3. Point your web browser at http://WikiBox/ (The name will be advertised on the LAN using NETBIOS).
4. Follow the instructions on the web page, and read the documentation. The default username/password is WikiBox/WikiBox for web based administration interfaces, and root/WikiBox for linux login. Don’t forget to change these!
WikiBox is built on top of Linux using Fedora Core 3, running the Apache web server, and Twiki (perl-based). In addition, a series of perl scripts were written to implement web-based configuration of the server.
WikiBox is based entirely on open-source code licensed under the GPL and Apache licenses.
