Description:
php-fusion
A standalone Virtual Appliance and/or part of the Online Learning Appliance Suite (OLAS)
by Farren Constable, May 24, 2006
I have included the php-fusion package, a Content Management System (CMS) for those teachers who don't need the power and overhead of a full LMS such as Moodle or ILIAS. It is a powerful and flexible package that might work well for delivering in-house corporate training. Or, if you have a large online school, php-fusion could power a "student union" site for your students to gather and discuss topics.
While this php-fusion server could very easily stand alone and be extremely useful, I consider it to be one component of my Online Learning Appliance Suite (OLAS). Please read the "Online Learning Appliance Suite info.txt" file for more information.
Full documentation, additional information, news, etc., is available at http://www.php-fusion.co.uk.
This php-fusion Server is built on Open SuSE 10.1 from opensuse.org.
The php-fusion product is version v6.00.307 from www.php-fusion.co.uk.
The root password is 'teach'.
There is one user account named 'teacher' with a password of 'password'.
There is NO GUI installed for this server to keep it lean.
The network is configured to obtain a DHCP address.
YAST is installed and is how I did most of the configuration of the Linux system, including Apahce.
Once the server is up, you can access the php-fusion server by pointing a web browser to: http://server-ip-address/.
There is a default php-fusion user account of 'admin' with a password of 'password'.
The mySQL root password is also 'teach'.
Simply power up the VM, and once it is at a login prompt, you are ready to connect with a browser at http://server-ip-address/. You may need to log in a root and run the 'ifconfig' command to find out what IP address the VM was given from your DHCP server. Then, point your browser to that IP address as described above.
Enjoy!
