The Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway™ Virtual Edition offers all of the same anti-spam, anti-virus, secure messaging, data privacy and intellectual property leak prevention features found in Proofpoint’s physical appliances in an easy-to-deploy virtual appliance for VMware’s virtualization products. Proofpoint's messaging security platform provides comprehensive defense against both inbound and outbound messaging threats—and Proofpoint's modular architecture lets you easily deploy new defenses as your needs change. Modular defenses include:

• Proofpoint Spam Detection offers complete defense against spam, adult content and phishing attacks. Proofpoint MLX machine learning technology delivers unrivalled accuracy with the lowest rate of false positives.

This beta test version is fully functional for a 45-day evaluation period. It includes a fully pre-configured enterprise messaging security application, MTA (message transfer agent) and secure operating system. Components include the Proofpoint Protection Server software equipped with inbound email protection modules with anti-spam and anti-virus capabilities: Proofpoint MLX machine-learning powered Proofpoint Spam Detection module, Proofpoint Virus Protection module (powered by F-Secure technology), Proofpoint Zero-Hour Anti-Virus module and the Proofpoint Email Firewall/Content Compliance module.

NOTE: This version has been tuned and tested to run on VMware Server.
