Debian Etch minimal Gnome desktop installation with latest VMware Tools

Features

The Debian Etch VMware appliance is a minimal Gnome desktop installation of Debian Etch Linux 4.0 r0 (current "stable" distribution) with basic desktop tools, browser and package manager. There is also a full Gnome Desktop appliance if you prefer preloaded applications instead of a minimal size. Both appliances are intended to be used for working with Windows and Debian Linux side by side. To accomplish this they are prepared for setting up networking between host and guest via CIFS or SMBFS. Workstation users can alternatively use the Shared Folders feature, because the newest VMware Tools are fully installed. There is a homepage with detailed explanations of these and other things including a Getting Started section for Windows users wanting to have a first look at Linux. If the host is online the appliance is ready to install software choosing from almost 19000 free packages of the Debian repositories. All passwords, a complete documentation of the installation process, a readme file, and everything else you need is included in the zip file.homepage: http://www.visoracle.com/download/debian/
