WebLogic Server Virtual edition allows you to run WebLogic Server directly on a hypervisor without a standard OS

Features

BEA has created a middleware appliance in BEA WebLogic Server Virtual Edition (WLS-VE). The concept of software appliances is not a new one; they provide a fully preinstalled, preconfigured, and certified application and operating system environments. BEA WebLogic Server Virtual Edition goes a step further, making it possible to target application services onto virtualized computing resources in a rapid, highly flexible fashion. It reduces complexity and increases reusability. It also includes BEA LiquidVM, a virtualization-enabled version of BEA JRockit JVM that can run on a hypervisro without a standard OS, allowing Java applications to run directly on the virtualized hardware. LiquidVM takes the places of the tradidiontal operating system environment, greatly reducing the memory footprint of the virtual machine and improving hardware resource utilization. This also drives down maintenance and support concerns and costs, incresing agility and flexibility.BEA WebLogic Server Virtual Edition contains BEA WebLogic Server Premium augmented with LiquidVM. It delivers a ready-to-run platform for enterprise Java applications, optimized out of the box to run on virtualized server hardware running VMware Infrastructre 3 software.Installing and Configuring WLS-VE: http://edocs.bea.com/wls-ve/docs92-v10/install/mainsteps.htmlWLS-VE documentation:http://edocs.bea.com/wls-ve/docs92-v10/
