Validation Specifications for Virtual Appliances: Branding Requirements
The VMware Ready Appliances Branding Requirements (“Requirements”) provide guidance and requirements for branding a VMware Ready Virtual Appliance. These Requirements are not a definitive statement of proper trademark use. VMware reserves the right to oppose any use of its logos and trademarks that VMware in its sole discretion, deems unlawful or improper, even if such use is not expressly prohibited hereunder. VMware further reserves the right to revise these Requirements at anytime, without notice. In the event of any revision to these Requirements, you will have a reasonable period of time, not to exceed thirty (30) days, to comply and continue your use of the applicable logos and trademarks.
Point of Product Distribution
For a VMware Ready Virtual Appliance, the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance logo must appear at the point of product distribution. This includes but is not limited to a product landing page, product download page, product packaging (e.g. product box, CD-ROM packaging or other electronic media) or any other means of product distribution.
Product Promotion
In addition, the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance logo must appear in any promotional materials for virtual appliance including, but not limited to product datasheets, promotional flyers, promotional emails and landing pages, Web pages and demos.
VMware has the right to request removal or termination of use of the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance logo at anytime.
The partner must use an official version of the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance logo or use the provided Encapsulated PostScript (.eps) file to scale the logo to an acceptable size while maintaining the quality of the logo.
Additional VMware Ready Virtual Appliance Marketing Requirements
On the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance download page, the partner must provide links to the download areas for VMware Player, VMware Server and VMware Infrastructure 3. In addition, the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance download page as well as any content related to the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance must contain a link back to the VMware Virtual Appliance Marketplace.
The VMware Ready Virtual Appliance logo should appear on the product download page. The use of the VMware Ready Virtual Appliance logo must conform to the Logo Usage guidelines outlined in the VMware Branding Guidelines. In addition, partners should include the following text, with direct links to the download areas for the VMware products:
