- Run independently of the hypervisor and virtual machine infrastructure. Application Software products cannot use VMware application programming interfaces (APIs) or other mechanisms for integrating with or controlling VMware components.
- Provide features only at the top of the application software stack. For example, CRM software would probably qualify. File system software would probably not qualify.
- Don't properly fit in another more appropriate VMware Ready category.

Join the
Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) Program at the Access level or above if you're not already a member.
Provide an official support statement
Visit the VMware Ready section in
Partner Central and follow the instructions for the Application Software program.
Submit product descriptions for the Partner Product Catalog
Submit information on your company, your unique value proposition with VMware, and detailed product information in the VMware Ready section in
Partner Central.
Test your applications
If your product qualifies for the VMware Ready Application Software category, you can follow the steps specified in
Partner Central for details about testing. If you have questions about whether your product will qualify for the Application Software category, please contact VMware at
tapalliance@vmware.com before proceeding with testing. Avoid wasting time and effort by ensuring that you’re using the right test process for your product.
