vCenter Orchestrator Plug-Ins

The VMware Ready vCenter Orchestrator Plug-in Program offers a comprehensive set of tools and resources to help vendors develop and certify vCenter Orchestrator plug-ins for their products. VMware vCenter Orchestrator plug-ins extend the vCenter Orchestrator workflow engine with new object types and methods that automate repeatable tasks across VMware and partner technologies. This provides customers with rich integration and automation technology that lower the initial acquisition and ongoing operating costs of joint solutions. vCenter Orchestrator plug-ins provide a competitive edge to the vendor that develops and distributes them.

Use of the VMware Ready logo in association with vCenter Orchestrator plug-ins signifies that the vCenter Orchestrator Plug-In has met VMware standards defined in the VMware Ready vCenter Orchestrator Plug-in Program Guide. A copy of the guide may be obtained by contacting tapalliance@vmware.com.

Requirements

  • Currently be enrolled in the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program at the Elite level.
  • TSANet membership and an entry in the VMware custom TSANet portal.
  • Partners are required to package their certified plug-ins in the form of a DAR file, upload it to their site, and provide a link to VMware.
  • Ensure the vCO Plug-in passes the vCO Plug-in certification. vCO Plug-ins must meet the current requirements as documented in the VMware Ready vCenter Orchestrator Program Guide. A copy of the guide may be obtained by contacting tapalliance@vmware.com.
  • Publish product on the VMware Solution Exchange.

Application Director

The VMware Ready for Application Director program offers a comprehensive set of tools and resources to help vendors develop and certify Application Director Blueprints (as well as Services, Script Tasks, VM Templates) for various products. Application Director is an application provisioning, update lifecycle and release automation solution designed specifically to help application teams to accelerate and automate the deployment of applications across the cloud. For the end customers to use Application Director there is a need to have rich content of various products that can be deployed in the cloud. To develop this content, it is important to leverage the partner ecosystem. The purpose of this program is to help the partner ecosystem develop Blueprints and have them certified to be endorsed by VMware.

Use of the VMware Ready logo in association with Application Director signifies that the blueprint has met VMware standards defined in the VMware Ready for Application Director Program Guide. A copy of the guide may be obtained through Partner Central or by contacting tapalliance@vmware.com.

Requirements

  • Currently be enrolled in the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program at any level.
  • TSANet membership and an entry in the VMware custom TSANet portal.
  • Comply with all sections of the Partner Product Support policy as outlined in the VMware Ready for Application Director Blueprints Program Guide.
  • Blueprints must meet the current requirements as documented in the VMware Ready for Application Director Blueprints Program Guide.
  • Ensure the Application Director Blueprint passes the certification as stated in the VMware Ready for Application Director Blueprints Certification Guide.
  • Partners are required to publish their Solution on the VMware Solution Exchange and include an import page which will allow a customer to import the Blueprint into their own Application Director instance.
