End of Availability of vCenter Application Discovery Manager
VMware is announcing the End of Availability of all VMware vCenter Application Discovery Manager (ADM) versions, effective of 06/01/2013. As a result, all versions of vCenter Application Discovery Manager will be removed from the VMware price list on 06/01/2013. After this date you will no longer be able to purchase these products.
All support and maintenance for the removed versions will be unaffected and will continue as per VMware Life Cycle policy through the published support period, 9/13/2014. Furthermore, VMware will extend the support and maintenance window until 03/08/2017. Therefore, existing customers can continue to use ADM beyond the End of Availability and receive customer support until 03/08/2017.

Q: Is ADM getting end of life'ed (EOL'ed)?
A: Yes, the End of Life process for vCenter Application Discovery Manager has been started. Initially the product will be removed from the price list so that no new orders will be accepted.
Q: When will ADM be taken off the price list?
A: ADM will get removed from the VMware price list effective on 06/01/2013. ADM will get removed from the channel price list effective 05/01/2013
Q: Can customers continue to use ADM after End of Availability?
A: Yes, customers who bought ADM own the product and they can continue to use it as long as they wish.
Q: When will ADM customer support end?
A: As per VMware Life Cycle policy there will be continued support for ADM until 9/13/2014. VMware will extend customer support until 03/08/2017. All technical support and maintenance services for ADM will cease to exist effective on 03/08/2017
Q: Will VMware entitle customers to other products?
A: VMware wants to ensure that the customer impact of EOL’ing ADM is minimal. There is no product in VMware’s product portfolio with similar capabilities as in ADM and therefore VMware cannot offer a replacement product. However, by extending the support period until 03/08/2017 customers gain additional time to use a supported product and exhaust the value provided from the product.
Q: How and when will the EOL of ADM get communicated to customers?
A: All ADM customers will be notified by e-mail on 05/15/2013 on the End of Availability of vCenter Application Discovery Manager.
