The Information Technology organization enables VMware to function and continue to grow as the founder and leader in the virtualization space. IT team members play both key operational and strategic roles for VMware, participate in revenue-generating activity for the company, and own the complete delivery of our products and our community site. The IT team also has the charter to be a showcase for all of our VMware technology within VMware. Members of the IT team have a phenomenal opportunity to get a breadth of exposure to VMware’s products and technology. IT Global Operations provides extranet and intranet support for the premier virtualization software company, using VMware’s software and best practices for service delivery. Working closely with product marketing and engineering, IT Global Operations is an early adopter, providing the company with pragmatic product experience while providing a valued showcase for the Sales and Marketing organizations. Global Operations supports the revenue generation portals, enterprise business applications, internal services infrastructure, telephony, database administration, internal support labs, data centers, desktop support, incident response team and client engineering services for a hyper-growth, highly-profitable business.
IT Project Management Office (PMO) partners with IT teams and business units to develop, deploy and manage enterprise wide project management practices, project governance standards, processes and metrics to assure that the IT project portfolio effectively tracks with and supports VMware’s business objectives.
IT Applications Engineering Team develops innovative solutions to meet internal and external customer needs. Utilizing Agile software development methodologies, our IT applications team offers opportunities in software development, quality assurance, business analysis, and user experience engineering for off-the-shelf as well as organically-developed enterprise applications.
IT Process and Compliance is a cross functional team responsible for Governance, Risk, and Compliance throughout the IT organization. Process and Compliance ensures that IT consistently provides value to the business without introducing unnecessary risk. This includes Sarbanes Oxley, change control, architecture, security, and processes.
