The Marketing, Product Management & Alliances Teams play an instrumental role in helping to build VMware into a category-defining company. As part of the team, you will work to build, evangelize and deliver world-class virtualization solutions, products and services to customers and partners.
Corporate/Field Marketing
Corporate Marketing sets strategy and works with employees throughout the world to execute an integrated marketing plan across all marketing channels and geographies to support marketing strategy and direction for specific VMware solutions. The Corporate and Field Marketing teams work extensively with sales, product management and product marketing as well as outside agencies in order to execute integrated marketing campaigns and programs that include online, print, email, direct mail, webinars, seminars, tradeshows and executive marketing sessions.
Product Marketing
Product marketing plays a critical role in successfully driving our products into the marketplace by understanding the current market environment and developing a strategy to drive customer awareness of the benefits of adopting VMware products and solutions. In addition to determining packaging, pricing, sales tools and collateral, Product Marketing Managers use a number of outlets in order to evangelize VMware’s position in the marketplace including blogging, analyst meetings, industry events, data sheets, white papers and customer case studies. Product Marketing also works with VMware’s sales team, OEM and Channel Partners on positioning products and solutions, lead generation activities and helping to optimize the sales process.
Product Management
Product Managers are the CEOs of their products and are responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning and driving the execution of the vision for their product lines. Product Managers must possess business acumen as well as engineering wherewithal in order to be able to strategize, drive and bring their product to market. Product Managers must work extensively with customers while working cross functionally with Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Corporate Marketing & Alliance Partners in order to successfully prioritize features and develop the products that our customers need.
Alliances
Alliance Managers develop strategic relationships with OEM, ISV and IHV partners. Alliance Managers own the partnering strategies and relationship development with their respective partner companies. This group also aligns partner product integrations with VMware’s product directions. This includes driving outcomes on certifications and integration solutions as well as developing, structuring and driving joint solutions and technology roadmaps. These roles include delivering and coordinating roadmaps between VMware and our partners to ensure differentiation, technology adoption and enhancement with the partner’s technologies.
