Professional Services Organization
The global VMware Professional Services Organization (PSO) influences the success of each VMware implementation. The PSO team is dedicated to the success of the customer and their virtualization strategy and implementation. The PSO team ensures that VMware customers are successfully implementing their business plans from adoption all the way to a fully functioning virtualized data center. The VMware PSO team includes Implementation/Managed Services, Project/Engagement Management, Education Services, Partner Management and Technical Account Management (TAM) Services.
Practice Development Marketing
Consultants interested in being able to innovate, standardize and optimize new virtualization concepts for a services organization get to develop and market new offerings within Professional Services. Equivalent to product marketing or a product management team, this is the group to ensure that VMware delivers the highest quality services to our customer.
Technical Account Management Program (TAM)
Technical Account Managers assess an account’s existing infrastructure and review implementation plans for best practices before making recommendations based on the account’s unique requirements. The TAM also strives to bring together divergent business divisions toward a common objective and helps these groups address business and technical hurdles by providing access to VMware information and experts while serving in a trusted advisor capacity to their accounts.
Solutions Architect/Services Presales
Solutions Architects work closely with the software sales team to drive business development for Enterprise Consulting Services by preparing project proposals (SOWs) that include business and technical requirements as well as the appropriate solutions, schedules and delivery times for successful projects. The SA brings a strong foundation of in-depth infrastructure knowledge, together with Pre-Sales and scope management expertise, to effectively design and deploy effective, high-impact technical and business process solutions.
VMware Authorized Consultant (VAC) Program
The VMware Authorized Consultant Program shares the combined knowledge of VMware’s Professional Services Organization. This knowledge is delivered to partners through sharing best practices and consulting kits and delivering advanced services trainings and webinars on services topics. These topics include virtual datacenter design techniques, delivering virtualization assessments and virtual desktop methodology.
Consulting Delivery Services
As a VMware Consultant, you provide customers technical leadership in the installation, configuration and implementation of VMware products and services. You help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for best practices by customers and partners. This group gives the consultant the opportunity to work in most of the top Fortune 500 companies in the world. Services include (but are not limited to) operational readiness, business continuance, disaster recovery, and storage and IT services delivery.
Federal PSO Consulting Services
Our Federal Professional Services Organization is focused on providing our federal customers support in the evaluation and deployment of our entire line of VMware products. Our Federal team focuses on all aspects of Government sectors including Civilian, Intelligence and Department of Defense agencies. The projects or engagements include non-security cleared professionals up to the highest level security cleared consultants including TS/SCI full scope poly clearances. This group makes an impact at the highest level of national safety and security.
Engagement Manager Services
As a VMware Engagement Manager, you manage customer billable projects to time, budget and contracted deliverables. These customers are typically Fortune 100 accounts adopting VMware virtualization software across their data centers. In this role you have the opportunity to participate in several executive committees giving you exposure to senior level management. Engagement/Project managers are responsible for building best practices and managing to business processes (ITIL).
- PSO- Training & Education
- Education Delivery: Technical instructors with a love of teaching in a classroom environment (and traveling), teach courses for VMware distributors, channel partners, customers, and internal employees.
- Tech Curriculum/Certification: Technical writers with experience in teaching, utilize skills to create instructor led & eLearning courses for VMware customers. Build presentations as well as lecture and lab materials. Be apart of a tremendous team building the highly coveted VMware Certified Professional program.
- Education Services- Information System/System Administrator: The Information Systems team provides software infrastructure and tools to training groups throughout the VMware organization. Come aboard with your creative web designing skills. System Administrators interested in building upon their technical skills, provide support for the 650+ systems supporting the department’s classes and websites.
