Create Differentiated Solutions on VMware Platforms

TAP members get access to a comprehensive set of developer resources to develop rich and robust applications on VMware platform, create differentiated solutions and reduce time-to-market. These resources include,

  • Products such as toolkits and APIs
  • Content such as documentation and knowledge base
  • Source code access and
  • Services such as developer forums, incident support, architectural help and certification

These resources are packaged in the form of programs listed below. Together they are called Co-Development Programs. We continue to improve the breadth and depth of resources, so let us know your suggestions.

VMware Community Source (VMCS) Program

VMware Community Source (VMCS) program provides ISV/IHV partners with an opportunity to collaborate with VMware to develop advanced virtualization technology and features. Participating partners get access to ESX source code under a royalty-free license. Partners can review source code, propose projects and work closely with VMware’s R&D organization to build new technology that can be incorporated into future versions of VMware products, including APIs that optimize the integration of their products with VMware’s.

For partners, such close collaboration at product strategy and development level can lead to creation of differentiated products that offer deep integration with VMware products and time-to-market advantage in delivering complementary products that interoperate with VMware.
