Use this page to review VMware product licenses you are entitled to, to activate licenses by redeeming them for product license files, and to manage the generated license files. The license files you create contain licenses for your purchased products and are used to unlock your products during installation.
The two sections on this page offer the following information:
- My Product Licenses – Lists all VMware products, both standard and additive, that you have purchased. For each product, the table also shows the total number of purchased licenses, the number of licenses you have already activated, if any, and the number of remaining licences available to redeem.
Note: Depending on whether you logged in as a registered user, license administrator (LA), or support administrator (SA), different sets of licenses might be visible to you.
To view licensing details for a specific product, click the name of the product in the Description column. The View Product Licenses page opens.

- My License Files – Lists all previously generated license files along with their general creation information including the date of file creation, the name of the person who created or updated the file, licensing model, comments, and so on. If you haven't created any license files, the My License Files section doesn't appear on the page.
To view details for a specific license file and to retrieve the file, click the link in the Created On column. The View License File page opens.
Use the links and buttons that appear on this page to perform the following actions:
- Review and retrieve evaluation license files
- Generate and retrieve new license files
- Edit existing license files
- Delete existing license files
- Combine selected multiple license files into a single license file
Click the View Evaluation Licenses link to open the Active Evaluation License Files page. Use this page to review and retrieve your active evaluation license files.
Click the New button to start the Create License File wizard. Use the wizard to activate available product licenses and to create and retrieve new license files. If you have activated all of your available product licenses, the New button doesn't appear on the Manage Licenses page.
After you generate a new license file, it appears in the My License Files section of the Manage Licenses page. The numbers of activated and available licenses in the My Product Licenses section change accordingly.
In the My License Files section, select the check box next to a license file you want to edit, then click the Edit button to open the Edit License File page. Use this page to make any necessary changes to your license file.
In the My License Files section, select the check box next to a license file you want to delete, then click the Delete button to open the Delete License Files page. Use this page to confirm your selection for deletion. You cannot delete more than five license files at a time.
After you delete the license file, the previously allocated license is released to the pool of available licenses and can be used again. The numbers of activated and available licenses in the My Product Licenses section adjust accordingly.
In the My License File section, select the check boxes next to specific license files you want to combine, then click the Combine button to open the Combine License Files page. Use this page to review and retrieve your new combined license file. You cannot combine license files that use different licensing models, or belong to products from different product families.
