List & Validate

There are three ways to list your virtual appliance on VMware Solution Exchange. The processes to list and validate are outlined below.

Community Contributed Virtual Appliances

Community Contributed virtual appliances are created by members of the virtualization and application community and typically include open source applications. Community contributed virtual appliances are provided by non-commercial ISVs only.

How to List a Community Contributed Virtual Appliance

Step 1:

Review the VMware Ready Testing Matrix and Virtual Appliance Guidelines   to ensure your virtual appliance is in compliance.

Step 2:

Register as a VSX partner. Indicate ‘company type’ as ‘Non-commercial ISV’ while registering as a VSX partner. In the event that a non-commercial ISV registers as a commercial ISV, VMware reserves the right to change the partner’s ‘software provider type’ to non-commercial.

Complete and submit the virtual appliance listing request through the ‘create a new listing’ option in the VSX partner portal.

VMware will send an email notification when the listing is approved and published on the VSX under the ‘Community Contributed category and two solution categories.

The VSX partner portal will reflect the ‘live’ listing status and the ‘approved’ review status.
