Get a Safe Passage from Virtual Iron to VMware vSphere

The Virtual Iron Safe Passage promotion enables existing Virtual Iron customers an easy way to migrate their Virtual Iron deployments to VMware vSphere™ 4, one of the industry’s most trusted virtualization platforms. In light of news reports to that Oracle will discontinue development of existing Virtual Iron products, VMware is offering companies a cost-effective way to migrate to VMware vSphere™ 4, providing customers a clear virtualization roadmap to help meet their needs as their business grows.

Promotion Terms and Conditions

Qualifying Virtual Iron customers with active support contracts are eligible to receive a 40% discount off VMware list prices of certain VMware vSphere™ 4 products and a 10% discount off VMware list price of the associated one year Support and Subscription contracts. The number of Virtual Iron sockets on the Virtual Iron contract must be equal to or greater than the number of CPUs of VMware product purchased.

Qualified Virtual Iron Products

Virtual Iron Enterprise 4.0 or newer and Virtual Iron Extended Enterprise 4.0 or newer qualify for this offer.

Eligible VMware Products and Discounts

The following VMware vSphere™ 4 product licenses are eligible for a 40% discount off VMware license list price: VMware vSphere™ 4 Advanced Edition, VMware vSphere™ 4 Enterprise Plus Edition, VMware vCenter™ Server Foundation and VMware vCenter™ Server Standard. The following VMware vSphere™ 4 product Support and Subscription contracts are eligible for a 10% discount off VMware list price for one year of Support and Subscription: VMware vSphere™ 4 Advanced Edition, VMware vSphere™ 4 Enterprise Plus Edition, VMware vCenter™ Server Foundation and VMware vCenter™ Server Standard. Two and three year Support and Subscription contracts are not eligible for a discount through this offer. For customer purchases through a VMware channel, customers should check with their reseller for final end customer pricing since customer pricing is determined by VMware reseller.

Offer Period

This offer is in effect for orders placed from July 1, 2009 until September 30, 2009. Please allow additional time for validation of eligibility.

Applicability of other Discounts or Programs

This offer cannot be combined with any other direct customer discounts provided under a VMware contract (e.g., MSLA, ELA) or discounts provided under VMware channel programs (e.g., VMware Volume Purchasing Program, Advantage+).

How to Take Advantage of Offer

This offer is available through a VMware sales representative and through authorized VMware resellers. Customers purchasing through a VMware channel should check with their reseller for final pricing since customer pricing is determined by VMware reseller. Proof of current Virtual Iron support must be provided to VMware if purchased directly from VMware or to the reseller if purchased from a reseller. The order will be processed upon verification of proof of current Virtual Iron Support and Subscription. This promotion is not available through the VMware Web Store.

Proof of Current Support and Subscription

A copy of an invoice for Virtual Iron support is required to qualify for this offer and may only be used once. Virtual Iron support must be current to qualify for this offer.
