Overview
VMware and Symantec have been working together to create a joint solution that will drive server consolidation and lower TCO by delivering highly available virtual machines. As of 2004, the VERITAS Cluster Server product supports VMware.
"In keeping with VERITAS' strategy to enable utility computing across complex, heterogeneous IT environments, VERITAS is working with VMware to bring high availability and data protection capabilities to VMware's virtual machines," said Robert Soderbery, vice president, business development, VERITAS Software. "VMware's products offer powerful choices for customers to deploy applications with increased flexibility and scalability, and our joint efforts are aimed at making these environments enterprise-grade."
