The Virtualization Opportunity for SMB

VMware announced an agreement with Intel® to sell VMware vSphere™ 4 with Intel board and system products starting in the fourth quarter of 2009. The agreement will enable Intel to provide VMware vSphere 4 through its worldwide distributor network to resellers and system integrators that service small and midsized businesses (SMBs). This enhanced relationship expands on the Intel Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance (ESAA) certification agreement previously signed by the companies and strengthens the companies’ longstanding strategic relationship.

  protection for a complete server consolidation and business continuity solution
  for the small office IT environment.
• VMware vSphere Standard offers an entry solution for basic consolidation of
  applications, reducing hardware costs while accelerating
  application deployment.
• VMware vSphere Advanced provides a strategic consolidation solution,
  protecting business-critical applications against planned and unplanned
  downtime, providing superior application availability.
• VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus delivers the full range of VMware vSphere features,
  transforming datacenters into dramatically simplified environments, offering
  the next generation of flexible, reliable IT services.
• VMware vCenter Standard provides large scale management of VMware vSphere deployments for rapid provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, and control of virtual machines. Purchased separately, it is required for managing VMware vSphere server hosts and enabling many of the features.
