VMware vFabric™ Hyperic

vFabric Hyperic is priced per machine. You need one vFabric Hyperic agent for each virtual machine, for each physical server with its own operating system, and for each network device you need to monitor. Some examples:

• Example 1: Virtual machine. To monitor 100 virtual machines running on 10 vSphere hosts, you need licenses for 100 vFabric Hyperic agents. (You would not count the 10 vSphere hosts.) The list price for a subscription with production support would be $179/VM * 100 machines, or $17,900 per year.
• Example 2: Physical servers. To monitor 50 physical servers (that are not running vSphere) you would need licenses for 50 vFabric Hyperic agents. The list price for a subscription with basic support would be $149/server * 50 machines, or $7,450 per year.
• Example 3: Network devices. To monitor 200 network devices, you would need licenses to monitor all 200 devices. The list price for perpetual licenses with production support would be 200 devices * $360/network device, or $72,000. Annual support would be 25% of $72,000, or $18,000 per year.

There are 2 distinct support offerings for vFabric products that align to VMware support.

• Production support entitles customers to 24 X 7 X 365 support.
• Basic support entitles customers to 12 X 5 X 52 support.
