How do you license & price your offering?

We license and package our products per "Managed System." Technically the product is keyed to a machine name and Windows operating system which could be a Windows server OS or workstation OS, physical or virtual. This is a key distinction and differentiator from our competitors as they only manage physical workstations.

You say your IT management software is agentless. Do you mean I will never need any agents for any of your functionality?

vCenter Protect seamlessly blends agentless and agent-based deployments. That means that the solution provides a highly flexible architecture that meets the needs of even the most diverse IT environments. The software is designed to default to an agentless architecture, but in those situations where agents are necessary (such as Antivirus), the solution offers extremely flexible and powerful agent software.

What are the advantages of an agentless solution?

Used by the vast majority of customers, the agentless architecture reduces the management overhead related to deploying, trouble-shooting, and repairing software agents running on hundreds or even thousands of distributed machines when using a competing product.
