vCenter Lab Manager is no longer generally available. VMware will continue to support vCenter Lab Manager through May 1, 2013, in line with our General Support Policy: www.vmware.com/support.

VMware vCenter Lab Manager End of Product Availability FAQ

Q. Why is VMware discontinuing development and sales of Lab Manager?

A. As VMware continues to invest in our customers' journey to cloud computing, we are focusing on delivering secure enterprise hybrid clouds with VMware vCloud Director. vCloud Director provides the scalability and security necessary to deliver catalog-based self-service provisioning across different workload types, across multiple enterprise tenants, and across both private and public deployment models.

Q. When is the end-of-support date for Lab Manager?

A. Phone support and access to maintenance updates will cease after May 1, 2013. Until then, there are no changes to the delivery of support.

Q. Will maintenance patches and minor releases continue to be released for Lab Manager?

A. Yes, customers who are current on Support and Subscription (SnS) will continue to have access to ongoing maintenance patches until the end-of-support date.

Q. Will professional services and education services continue to be offered for Lab Manager?

A. No, all service offerings will be discontinued following the end-of-availability.

Q. If I have a Support and Subscription (SnS) contract that terminates beyond the end-of-support date, am I entitled to a refund?

A. Yes, customers are entitled to a refund of any SnS that will remain unused past May 1, 2013.

Q. How do I request a refund of unused Support and Subscription (SnS)?

A. The Primary License Administrator should file a Customer Service Request.

Q. Will products continue to operate even after the end-of-support date is passed?

A. Yes, the products will continue to function. Customers will just not have access to support and updates.
