End of Support of VMware vCenter AppSpeed
VMware is announcing the End of Support of all VMware vCenter AppSpeed versions, effective of 07/03/2013. As a result, all technical support and maintenance services for vCenter AppSpeed will cease to exist on 07/03/2013.
All versions of vCenter AppSpeed will be removed from the VMware download website on 07/03/2013. After this date you will no longer be able to download these products or to retrieve a license key. Q. What is vCenter AppSpeed’s end-of-availability date?
A. vCenter AppSpeed will no longer be available for sale as of January 3, 2012 and General Support Services will cease on July 3, 2013.
Q. When will support and subscription services for vCenter AppSpeed end?
A. End of Support of all VMware vCenter AppSpeed versions will take effect on July 3rd, 2013. As a result, all technical support and maintenance services for vCenter App Speed will cease to exist on July 3rd, 2013.
Q. Do vCenter AppSpeed customers have entitlements to other VMware products?
A. Customers who are on active Subscription and Support (SnS) contracts will be entitled to the new release of vFabric Hyperic. Customers are entitled to a conversion of their license in a 1:1 ratio.
Q. Does the pricing differ between vCenter AppSpeed and vFabric Hyperic?
A. Yes. vCenter AppSpeed was priced at USD 150 and vFabric Hyperic is priced at USD 360 per virtual machine.
Q. How will the pricing change affect existing SnS contracts for vCenter AppSpeed?
A. Upon SnS renewal, upgraded customers will be required to pay on the new, upgraded product price for vFabric Hyperic. Hyperic SnS has a higher list price than AppSpeed SnS because Hyperic provides significantly more functionality. SnS costs will not increase prior to customer’s next SnS term.
Q. How will customers learn about these changes?
A. Customers will receive an email notification.
Q. If a customer who has purchased vCenter AppSpeed and does not want vFabric Hyperic, can they return vCenter AppSpeed?
A. No, we will not be issuing refunds. If the customer does not want to switch to the newly updated vFabric Hyperic, they can continue to use vCenter AppSpeed.
Q. Will products continue to operate even after the end of support date is passed?
A. Yes, the products will continue to function. However, there will be no customer support or updates.
