Description

This technical note describes how to install VMware vCenter Server using the Windows command-line interface, including how to download the vCenter Server Installer, the data required to perform the installation, a description of the installation command parameters, and sample installation commands for vCenter Server and the vSphere Client. Command examples include installations using defaults, installations using nondefault settings, installations in vCenter Server standalone or grouped (linked) environments, installations with and without existing databases, and installations of the vSphere Client with and without the vSphere Host Update Utility.
