Actuate is the co-founder of an open source development project on business intelligence (BI) tools. ActuateOne is a suite of integrated BI products and services created by Actuate. It enables customers to build and deploy mission-critical business Intelligence and rich information applications. Using this tool, for example, a business user can develop their own view of data visualization using templates created by their IT organization. This document provides direction for running ActuateOne on VMware® vSphere™5.0 and VMware vCloud Director 1.5, including basic guidance on the architecture of ActuateOne. Based on the results of a joint testing done by VMware and Actuate, the paper describes performance and functionality of ActuateOne on VMware, and best practices in utilizing the two products in a private cloud deployment.
