VMware Ready Expansion Networking Security

Networking and security solutions are integral components of building agile and secure virtual datacenters. Partner solutions integrated with VMware products deliver security, compliance and advanced networking to help customers leverage their existing investments in network and security solutions, while dramatically improving operational efficiency and agility in their datacenter.

The Network and Security category is open to qualified partners interested in building and certifying network and security services over VMware platform. Two certifications are available for use with the VMware® Ready™ for Networking and Security logo:

  • Network Extensibility (NetX) for vSphere
  • Endpoint Security (EPSEC) for vSphere

Network Extensibility for vSphere

The VMware NetX program enables partners to use NetX APIs to build network and security services over VMware infrastructure. NetX APIs enable partners to integrate their existing solutions inside VMware work flow management and tap valuable information inside vSphere to provide their services. Solutions currently supported by these APIs include load-balancing (LB), WAN optimization and intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/ IPS) service integration.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program at the Elite level. Visit the TAP main page for information on the program, how to enroll and how to upgrade your enrollment.
  • Maintain VMware Certified Professional status for technical support, as well as one VMware Salesperson and one VMware Technical Salesperson certification status within each region where the qualified product is sold.
  • Sign the NetX for vShpere program agreement.
  • Adhere to all product support requirements as documented in the NetX program guide.
  • Provide cooperative support for the qualifying products through TSANet. Maintain TSANet membership and an entry in the VMware custom TSANet Portal.
  • Publish the product description on the VMware Solution Exchange (VSX).
  • Pay incremental fees as specified in the NetX Program Guide posted on the VMware Developer Center.
  • Pass integration tests for either VMware Network Extensibility (NetX) for vSphere defined in the Network and Security Program Guides. To obtain a copy of the Network and Security Program Guide, contact tapalliance@vmware.com.

Get Started

To get started and express interest in enrolling in the VMware Ready Program, complete the online Partner Onboarding Form. Select “NetX” in the Program Name field.

Visit the VMware Developer Center for additional program resources, including SDKs, APIs and other certification tools.

End-Point Security (EPSec) for vSphere

The VMware EPSec program enables partners to use EPSec APIs to deliver endpoint security solutions in a more efficient manner that does not require the management of resource-intensive agents inside the guest VM. VMware EPSec APIs allow partners to eliminate the requirements for these agents and instead consolidate security intelligence into a single Security Virtual Appliance (SVA) per ESXi host. Currently, solutions supported by these APIs include anti-virus (AV), file integrity monitoring (FIM) and data loss prevention (DLP scanning for data at rest).
