Gene Likins is Director of VMware Accelerate Advisory Services for the Americas, where he supervises a team of experienced IT strategists that works collaboratively with clients to define their enterprise IT strategy and execution plans. This group of subject matter experts employs value modeling, key performance indicators, benchmarking and strategic analysis to deliver integrated business-centric IT plans that enable business transformation.
Likins' experience includes 18 years in the IT industry with a decade focused on value management. Value management client engagements included industries such as chemical, beauty care products, electronics, international aid, rail transportation, marketing technology and services, and pharmaceuticals.
Prior to joining VMware, Likins led various value engineering teams and programs during more than eight years at SAP, most recently as vice president of value engineering for SAP – Greater China. He led numerous engagements enabling business/IT alignment, business process benchmarking and strategic IT roadmaps. Previously, Likins was a manager on Siebel’s value management team and also held various roles in alliances, presales and industry go-to-market.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas, Austin, and a master’s in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University.
