Heiko de Vries, Business Solutions Strategist with VMware Accelerate Advisory Services in central EMEA, collaborates with customers to define and communicate their IT strategies to realize business goals and IT initiatives. He adds a deep IT-related finance and controller background to the Accelerate Advisory Services team.
De Vries joined VMware in 2012, bringing 35 years’ experience in financial services, IT and consulting. Prior to joining VMware, he spent seven years as finance director, EMEA, for the healthcare vertical of CSC Group and as management consultant for financial services, mainly in IT cost optimization, for Commerzbank. Prior to that, he held a variety of management positions in 16 years with Deutsche Bank, including managing director in charge of controlling corporate purchasing and IT-related services.
Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, de Vries served 12 years as an officer in the German Air Force. During this time, he completed his master’s degree in economics at the Universitaet der Bundeswehr Muenchen.
