Americas Executive
VMware Accelerate Advisory Services
Michael Hubbard is the Americas lead for VMware Accelerate Advisory Services, which provides collaborative services to customers on a global basis that define and communicate their IT strategy with strong alignment to business goals.
Prior to joining VMware, Hubbard spent eight years with Oracle Corporation, focusing on application solutions for the financial services, automotive, retail, and consumer goods industries. He also has a background in management consulting with A.T. Kearney and technology consulting with EDS. As a consultant, he led multiyear, multimillion dollar implementations of customer relationship management, supply chain management and financial suites while delivering business process improvement around “lean enterprise” practices.
Hubbard joined VMware in 2007 as manager of the Central Area Engineering organization, where he worked with customers to accelerate their understanding and adoption of virtualization.
Hubbard was named Americas Executive for VMware Accelerate Advisory Services in 2010. Under his leadership, the organization has emerged as an authority on cloud benchmarking, solution value analysis and client cloud strategy. Accelerate Advisory Services has delivered more than 100 advisory engagements including Fortune 50 clients in financial services and retail. Public sector clients include two of the 10 largest U.S. cities and five statewide shared-services agencies. Hubbard has also led the development of the Accelerate Advisory Services team’s global repository of IT benchmarking and value modeling capabilities.
In addition to his position as Americas Executive, Hubbard is an executive steering committee member of several VMware corporate alliances and participates in VMware’s market strategy for solutions, acquisitions and service offerings. He also leads the CIO and executive tracks at the VMworld conference each year.
Hubbard holds an engineering degree from the University of Illinois and formal training in technology project delivery as well as certifications on platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and VMware.
