Nick Smith is Business Solutions Strategist for VMware Accelerate Advisory Services. He provides enterprise architecture, IT strategy and consulting services to VMware’s customers across Australia, New Zealand (ANZ) and southeast Asia (ASEAN).
He has 15 years’ experience in the IT industry, including eight years in the
aviation sector, plus public sector, education, legal, insurance, manufacturing, distribution and technology verticals. He has a broad base of experience encompassing both strategy formulation and delivery functions while managing organizational change. Prior to joining VMware Accelerate Advisory Services, Smith was enterprise architect with IBM Global Business Services, where he served a major Australian aviation carrier. In this role, he received an IBM innovation award for redesigning the client’s end-to-end server provisioning and scope of work process, which reduced provisioning time by 80 percent.
He previously served as client director/senior consultant with the virtualization firm ViFX. Other roles included enterprise account manager and senior presales consultant with VMware.
Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Auckland University of Technology.
