Stephan Bohn is Business Solutions Strategist for VMware Accelerate Advisory Services in Germany. He collaborates with customers to map their business needs to IT requirements and helps to identify gaps between their current situations and goals. He also recommends initiatives and roadmaps that will enable customers to close these gaps and reach their goals.
With more than 20 years of IT experience, Bohn has a comprehensive understanding of IT processes and the issues involved in adapting them to changing business needs. He has worked in several IT roles in banking, where he helped reduce infrastructural silos and change IT from an application operation approach to a service offering. Prior to his current assignment, he served as a principal sales consultant at Oracle. There, he was engaged in major strategic projects in several industries including financial services, retail, automotive and the public sector.
Since joining VMware Accelerate Advisory Services in 2010, he has helped a major automotive customer reduce its time to market by changing from a traditional IT approach to a private cloud approach. In his most recent engagement with a public sector customer, he produced valuable cost-saving recommendations based on a private cloud infrastructure and desktop virtualization.
Bohn holds a diploma in economics and computer science from the Fachhochschule Wedel. He has published several IT security-related articles in IT magazines and has spoken at numerous IT conferences. He also holds an ITIL v3 Foundation certificate.
