We offer certification on the current version of our software: VMware ESX Server 3.5/VMware VirtualCenter 2.5. Note that VMware ESX Server 3.5/VMware VirtualCenter 2.5 questions were added to the exam beginning in March of 2008. Those who tested on the ESX 3.0 and VC 2.0 version of the exam do NOT have to retest.
Please note that participation in a VMware authorized training class is REQUIRED for VCP certification. Candidates who take the VCP exam without a class will NOT be certified or confirmed by VMware. Authorized courses are listed on the Education Services portal of this website. If a class is NOT listed there it is not authorized.

The VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) on VMware Infrastructure 3 is an advanced certification developed for design architects of VMware enterprise deployments.
There are four core validation components to achieve VCDX.
(1) Must be certified as a VMware Certified Professional (VCP) on VMware Infrastructure 3.
(2) Pass the VMware Enterprise Administration Exam. Includes live labs and tests a higher level of skill set than the exam for VCP on VMware Infrastructure 3.
(3) Pass the VMware Design Exam. This exam focuses on actual design scenarios and contains simulations and situational questions.
(4) Submit, present and defend a successful VMware Infrastructure design and implementation plan.

How to become a VMware Certified Professional
Becoming a VMware Certified Professional is a straightforward, three-step process:- Participate in a VMware authorized course that is instructor-led to learn best practices and gain hands-on experience. The accepted courses are: "Install and Configure"; "Deploy, Secure and Analyze"; and "Fast Track". If you are a current VCP, there are no course prerequisites.
- Gain hands-on experience with VMware. Individuals who do not have the hands on experience find it very difficult to pass the exam.
