Critical to all of these innovative systems is the Omnicell server, OmniCenter®, which is the heart of every Omnicell automation system. The OmniCenter server manages the day-to-day operations of the automated medication and supply dispensing systems throughout the hospital enterprise. Omnicell, in partnership with VMware, has certified OmniCenter as ‘VMware Ready’ as well as WorkflowRx and OptiFlex servers to run on a VMware virtualization platform. Providence Health Care, one of Canada's largest faith-based health care organizations, operating 14 health care facilities in Greater Vancouver, recently completed the field validation and deployment of Omnicell’s OmniCenter server solution on a VMware virtualization platform.
