VMware ESX Server 2.0.1 Update for Dell OpenManage

Note: This is needed by one component of Dell OpenManage and will be included on the CD with VMware ESX Server 2.1.

Installing the Update

The Dell Remote Access Card (DRAC) software component of OpenManage requires the presence of the Linux "ppp" RPM. This RPM is not on your ESX Server 2.0 CD, so we have provided it here for download

To install this package:

1. Download this to the /tmp directory of your service console.
2. Change directories to cd /tmp
3. Verify the integrity of the RPM:
   md5sum ppp-2.4.1-3.i386.rpm
   The output should be:
   9021e419ab81d6caad3d6966bdb09aee ppp-2.4.1-3.i386.rpm
4. Enter rpm -ivh ppp-2.4.1-3.i386.rpm
