If you are an existing VI3 customer and you have maintained active Support and Subscription (SnS) agreement on your licenses, you will automatically receive your new vSphere 4 license keys. For details on this subscription-based upgrade process, please refer to the vSphere Upgrade Center.
Please check your VMware license portal to find your new upgraded license keys.

An active Support and Subscription (SnS) is a requirement for receiving new vSphere 4 licenses
Please follow these steps to verify that you have an active SnS Contract.
1. Login to the Contracts Portal.
2. Click on the Contract IDs of the contracts listed on the summary page of the portal.

3. Under the Support and Subscriptions tab, you should see a line item for a VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 Platinum or Gold Support and Subscription Contract.
4. The contract is active if the End Date has not been reached.

Do you have an active SnS contract?
- Your license key(s) should be installed into your product for activation. Please refer to the Licensing How-to Guide.

If you would like to modify your license key(s) prior to activation, please login to your VMware license portal account. - Please contact VMware Support to help resolve your issue. For more effective resolution, please provide us with the following information if you have it available:
• Customer Party Number
• Order Number
• Contract Number
• Primary License Administrator (PLA) email address, if available - If your SnS contract has expired, you can contact VMware Support Sales to request a reactivation of your subscription. Please fill-out the online form to send your request to VMware.
