Introduction to the VMware vCenter Orchestrator Plug-In for vCenter Chargeback Manager

The VMware vCenter Orchestrator plug-in for vCenter Chargeback Manager allows you to simplify the accounting of resources in your virtual infrastructure by extending the robust workflow automation platform of VMware to the vCenter Chargeback Manager environment. These workflows are built using the drag-and-drop capability of the workflow editor in the Orchestrator client. vCenter Orchestrator uses the plug-in to access the functionality of vCenter Chargeback Manager and the vCenter Chargeback Manager API. The included, pre-built workflows simplify the process to get you started with custom workflow creation.

The VMware vCenter Orchestrator plug-in for vCenter Chargeback Manager 2.0 release runs on VMware vCenter Orchestrator 4.2. The plug-in is compatible with VMware vCenter Chargeback Manager 2.0. For instructions about installing and configuring the plug-in, refer to the plug-in documentation.

Known Issues

The following issues are known to occur in the VMware vCenter Orchestrator Plug-In for vCloud Director 1.5 release:

  • Report schedules must have end date
    When you create a report schedule you must provide an end date. If you select Yes for the No end date option, then the report schedule is created with the default end date 31 December 2099.

  • Custom reports cannot be sent through email
    When you generate a report, the generated reported is not sent through email even if the email details are configured. Only scheduled reports are sent through email when the schedule is triggered and the corresponding report is generated.
