VMware vCenter Orchestrator SOAP Plug-In 1.0.1 Release Notes
What's in the Release NotesThe release notes cover the following topics:
Introduction to the VMware vCenter Orchestrator SOAP Plug-InThe VMware vCenter Orchestrator SOAP plug-in allows organizations to integrate their cloud provisioning and operations use cases with systems that offer Web services. Provisioning a virtual machine or requesting a cloud-hosted IT service, often is part of a larger IT process that includes various management systems, such as service desk, change management, IP address management, CMDB, or configuration management. With the SOAP plug-in, organizations can integrate vSphere and vCloud Director into automated processes that use third-party-system SOAP APIs. The SOAP plug-in provides the ability to query a URI or import a target application’s WSDL directly into the Orchestrator client. This enables workflow developers to browse the WSDL and create workflows from SOAP operations. The SOAP plug-in supports SSL authentication to provide secure communication with third-party systems. The VMware vCenter Orchestrator SOAP Plug-In 1.0.1 release runs on VMware vCenter Orchestrator 4.1, 4.2 and 5.1. For instructions about installing and configuring the plug-in, see Using the vCenter Orchestrator SOAP Plug-In 1.0.x. What's New in VMware vCenter Orchestrator SOAP Plug-In 1.0.1Version 1.0.1 of the SOAP plug-in has improved performance, addresses a number of issues, and adds NTLM authentication support. This version includes a new method for running SOAP operations and supports importing the internal WSDL or schema files over HTTPS. The new method allows you to monitor and modify SOAP requests and SOAP responses from the scripting. The WSDL download supports the same authentication type and credentials as the SOAP service. In the workflow presentation you can see the attributes defined within the WSDL and set their values. In the new version of the plug-in you, can use element names that contain hyphens. You can also set and get the attributes for a root element of the SOAP body by using the dot notation as a parameter name in the scripting. For example, To upgrade the plug-in, you must install version 1.0.1 on your existing installation. You can download version 1.0.1 from the VMware vCenter Orchestrator SOAP Plug-In download page.
