Downloading the Software
- How do I download VMware Fusion if I bought a license from the VMware Store?

If you are downloading VMware Fusion for the first time…
- Log in to the My VMware portal with your existing username and password, or if you are a new customer, click on the “Register” tab on the My VMware login page and create a profile.
- Download the software from this page: “All Downloads” page in My VMware https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/downloads
- Choose the version of the software you wish to download
- Locate the license key in your Account.
- From the "VMware Fusion" drop down menu in the product, you can click on "License" to enter the license.
- Do I need to download again if I am converting my trial license to a full license?

No. You just need to update your license key into the software. You do this from the "VMware Fusion" menu, click on "License" to enter your new license key.
- Where do I download free "minor" updates?

In VMware Fusion 4, updates are handled automatically. To check for updates periodically, click on the "VMware Fusion" drop down menu in the product and choose "Check for Updates."
- Can I download VMware Fusion and Parallels on the Same Machine (at the same time)?

Yes, both can be installed at the same time. Check system requirements for both products before installing
Trying VMware Fusion
- How can I obtain an evaluation of VMware Fusion?

You can register for a free trial of VMware Fusion 4 at: www.vmware.com/go/tryfusion
Log in with your existing username and password, and continue to register for product evaluation. New customers must create and activate a profile in My VMware to be able to register for product evaluation. Click on the “Create an Account” tab to begin the process of creating a profile.
Once registered, you can download the software from the Fusion Product Evaluation Center. You will receive an email confirmation with all the details on where to access to software. (Please check your junk-mail folder if you do not receive it within 30 minutes.)
- How can I find my trial license information for VMware Fusion?

Log in to your account from this page: www.vmware.com/accounts/ and choose "My Evaulations" from the Quick Links on the left or from the drop down menu under Products and Downloads.
- Can I extend my evaluation?

Product evaluations cannot be extended. If you are interested in learning more about VMware Fusion, please contact VMware Customer Service (VMware Fusion and VMware Workstation) for further information.
- My evaluation expired before I had a chance to use it, can I reactivate it?

Product evaluations cannot be reactivated. You can request a new evaluation via an alternate email address. If you are interested in learning more about VMware Fusion, please contact VMware Customer Service (VMware Fusion and VMware Workstation) for more information.
- Can I convert my trial license to a permanent license?

After the evaluation period has expired, you will be prompted to enter a license key. If you have purchased the product you will have received a new license key. Enter that license key where prompted to unlock the full "unlimited" version of the software. You must register your license key to be able to take advantage of your 18 months of complimentary email support.
