What are the steps required to retrieve and activate the Cisco Nexus™ 1000V Software?
  1. Place an order with VMware for one of the three options:
    • VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise Plus with Cisco Nexus 1000V
    • Upgrade: VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise Plus with Cisco Nexus 1000V
    • Cisco Nexus 1000V for VMware vSphere 4 Enterprise Plus
  2. Retrieve your Product Activation Key (PAK) code for the Cisco Nexus 1000V Software by either:
    • Reviewing the Product Licensing Order Confirmation email you received from VMware containing the Cisco PAK code for the Cisco Nexus 1000V license.
    • Viewing the order you placed with VMware on the VMware Order Management Portal.
  3. Download the Cisco Nexus 1000V software from the Cisco website.
  4. Create an account on the Cisco Website, if you do not already have one.
  5. Register your PAK code at the Cisco website and follow the licensing instructions from Cisco to activate the Cisco Nexus 1000V software.
